~Sues for collaborative efforts in the combat against Rail Line and Pipe Line vandalism in the State.

The Senior Special Assistant (SSA), to the executive governor of Benue State, His Excellency Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia, on Youth Organization and Illegal Levies, Hon Gbenda Terver, in the early hours of this day, 15th July 2024, pays a courtesy visit to the commandant, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Benue State Command, at the Command Headquarters, opposite Radio Benue Makurdi, Benue State.

In an introductory note, Hon Gbenda Terver, introduced his office of Youth Organization and Illegal Levies and the Taxforce team on illegal levies, he explained to the Commandant, the motive of their visit to the Command Headquarters, which according to him, was/is targeted at seeking collaborative tie with the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Benue State Command, for a total elimination of vandalism and other forms of criminality and illegalities in Benue State.

According to the SSA, the  Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps is expectedly a contact point between civil society and other security agencies, hence his burning desire to work assiduously with them, in the efforts of his office of Youth Organization and Illegal Levies and the entire Alia led administration, in making sure that, Benue attains the status of a crime free society, there by, ushering in a conducive and business investors friendly environment, for optimal productivity.

Hon. Gbenda lamented to why youth who are supposedly backbone and standing pillars of any given society, for its development and progress, often trade destructive path for personal gains, against posterity.

He finally solicited for the support of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, in the efforts of his office and the entire Alia led administration, in curtailing criminality and illegalities in Benue State.

Responding, the Commandant, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Benue State Command, CC Yakubu Ibrahim, thanked and appreciated Hon. Gbenda for finding time, out of his busy schedules, to pay the command, a courtesy visit, he commended the SSA for such a progressive initiative, saying, the visit was evidently clear that, the office of Youth Organization and Illegal Levies is ready in the fight against criminality and illegalities, describing the visit as timely and progressive.

According to CC Yakubu Ibrahim, the Security and Civil Defence Corps Benue State Command, had ever yearned for such collaborative relationship with youth organizations, adding that, in as much as youth are pointers and key players in development, they are also often used in perpetrating crime in the society, he maintained that, for the SSA to have came to seek for synergy as a youth ambassador, with the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, it is apparent that, the youth of Benue are ready and determined to fetching out the bad eggs within them, for Benue State to be free from vandalism and other forms of criminality and illegalities.

He promised a cordial working relationship with the office of Youth Organization and Illegal Levies, for a greater and peaceful Benue State.
