JAMB CUTOFF MARK FOR POLYTECHNICS IN NIGERIA 2020/2021

JAMB UTME approved fixed Cut-off marks for 2020/2021 have been released. These cut off marks announced by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) will be used for admissions in 2020.

If you have written JAMB and you are now awaiting the JAMB cutoff mark to gain admission into the polytechnics, you will get answers to your questions here.

You need to know that besides the JAMB UTME approved cutoff marks, different polytechnics, and universities, even colleges of education set their different cutoff marks.

In 2020, different polytechnics in Nigeria have their different JAMB UTME cutoff marks. Also within one polytechnic, the different departments require different cutoff marks; the department of Mass communication cutoff mark is not the same as that of the Industrial Design department in the same polytechnic. The same thing applies to universities' cutoff marks.

JAMB Cut-off Mark for Public Polytechnics 2020/2021

The JAMb UTME approved cutoff mark for 2020/2021 admission into a public polytechnic in Nigeria is 120.

JAMB wants polytechnics to admit candidates with 120 and above into their schools. However, if you score 120 in your JAMB UTME examination, it does not guarantee that you can gain admission in all polytechnics in Nigeria.  As I said, a polytechnic may peg their cutoff at 150 or even more, depending on the standard of the school and their reputation.

JAMB Cut off Mark for Private Polytechnics 2020/2021

UTME approved minimum score for admission into a private polytechnic in Nigeria is 110. So if you score 110 and above in your JAMB UTME, you may be considered for admission into a private polytechnic in Nigeria in 2020. But please note that among the private polytechnics, some may require higher cutoff while some departments may require even higher cutoff than 110 to gain admission.

Candidates will have to score at least 110 in their Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to gain admission.
