OFFICE OF THE SSA TO THE GOVERNOR OF BENUE STATE ON SCHOOL FEEDING PROGRAM AND MONITORING.

The honourable SSA to the Governor on school feeding program and monitoring Hon. Josephine Torkwase Boager earlier today kickstarted her tour of government schools in 23 Local Government of the State. Today she started with Makurdi local government and visited three schools in order to familiarize herself with the challenges encountered with school feeding program in the state.
The essence of the courtesy visits is to help strengthen relationships, build trust and foster goodwill between the schools and the government.
The SSA was warmly welcomed in all three school by head teachers Mr. Umenger Edward of St Theresa's primary school low level, Mr Atsar Bartholomew of L.G.E.A primary school Wurukum and Mrs. Blessing Tarkumbur of LG.E.A primary school km2 Gboko road makurdi couldn't hide their excitement stating this is the first time of having such encounters where they pour out their challenges and experiences of school feeding program in their various schools within the State.
They went further to appreciate the governor of Benue State His Excellency Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia for the prompt payment of their salaries since his assumption into office.
They were common challenges highlighted by the Head of school of the schools visited were insufficient supplies of some food/snacks for the kids as well as the exemption of some pupils from benefiting in the program ( as in the case of nursery classes) in the past Administration of the state.
The honourable SSA appreciated the schools for their warm regards, in her statement she promise to pass their complaints to the Governor.
In an interactive session with the pupils, the children were excited to be in school and wished for the school feeding program to be back.
They also asked the government to provide them with learning materials, boreholes and build more classrooms for them especially L.G.E.A primary school km2 Gboko Road
