President Buhari sympathize with family of Vera Uwaila

Following the death of Uwa Omozuwa, the 22-year-old 100 level student of the University of Benin that was raped and killed right inside a Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) parish on May 27, 2020, during her study hours. Many Nigerians have taken to their social media pages to demand justice for her and investigation is currently going on.

Lately President Muhammadu Buhari took to his official Twitter account as he address Nigerians about Uwa's case saying he offer his deepest condolences to Uwa's family and friends but it turns to some Nigerians that his addressed was not on time.

In his words, "I would like to offer my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Uwaila Omozuwa. I expect the Nigeria Police Force to speedily and diligently investigate this case and ensure that all the culprits responsible for this barbaric act are brought to justice."

Meanwhile this popped mixed reactions from the Twitter users as some says he always delayed in his responses and communications while addressing the people.

See some reactions to Buhari's tweet;

@AsiwajuLerry: Man only talked about the rape case and left Police Brutality unsaid.

I guess Tina’s case among other innocent Youths killed by the Police Officers are dismissed and not to be investigated??

@Amb_Yunus; Thank you Mr.President.

While bringing the Culprit to Justice,I believe this is the best time to Charge our Ministry of Women Affairs& @FMICNigeria to do media sensitisation against Rape&every Sexual harassment,molestation& its effect on the Victims and the Society.#endrape
