THE NEED TO COMPLETE THE ABANDONED ELECTRICITY PROJECT IN GBANYAM VILLAGE.

Gbanyam is a village in Tombo mbalagh Buruku Local government Area of Benue state. In 2003 contract for electrification of Gbanyam village was awarded by his Excellency George Akume the governor of Benue state by then.
The project started with immediate effect as instructed by the Governor, they started putting everything in order such as arranging of electrical poles and other things, after the process all the people in the community were over whelmed with the gesture of both the governor and the contractor along the line, the project was dumped .

Since 2003 that the project was abandoned, the community leaders has being working tirelessly,on how the project will be completed,by contacting well to do individuals to come to their aid and complete the project but all their efforts proves vanity as the project stands still.

Right from my childhood, politicians attending campaign rarry in The village claims to know the problem of our village being water scarcity and electricity, luckily enough on the side of water scarcity, Prof.
Alamveabee Efihraim Idyorough and Hon.mrs Torkwase ikyaator has contributed immensely to the community by providing Bore holes to them leaving the other side of the project (Electricity) as their resources can not afford, their efforts must be commended.
Youths in the village, on their part took a bold step in 2016 and organize a reception in honour of the then, SA to the governor on rural development,Hon
Gideon Abya Adzer Abya office in charge of rural electrification, and their written request was light but all efforts are still dead.

We are therefore calling on the governor of Benue state,His Excellency Samuel Ortom and other well to do individuals particularly Buruku illustrious Sons and daughters to come to our aid by completing the project which is dumped for over 15 years to make life to our comfort.
